There are many different ways to transfer files to and from our servers. We recommend using a FTP (Filte Transfer Protocol) program. This makes it easy to upload your site, you can upload multiple files and directories in just a few clicks. Below are instructions on how to use our recommend FTP programs. Providing your hosting package allows for SSH access your can also use the SFTP protocol.
General FTP Information
To use any FTP client you need 4 things:
1. Hostname
This is ftp.yourdomain or IP address or hostname of your server.
2. Username
This is the username given to you when you first set up your hosting account
3. Password
This is the password given to you when you first set up your hosting account
4. Port
This is usually 21 if you are using normal FTP, if you are using SFTP please contact support for the port number as this varies depending on server for security reasons
